Lisa McLaughlin currently teaches ESL, (English as a Second Language), and English at Perth Amboy High School, in Perth Amboy NJ, and has been an educator for twenty years. At Perth Amboy High School, Lisa has been a Team Lead for multiple years, as well as a member of the Diversity and Equity and School Improvement Team Committees. Lisa was graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, with a MFA in Writing, and holds a BA in Political Science and French from Boston College. She taught writing at Georgian Court University and Brookdale Community College as an adjunct instructor. Prior to embarking on a career in education, Lisa worked in Private Banking in New York City, for major financial institutions, as well as for a boutique bank. Lisa lived in The Netherlands for seven years, working for Greenpeace International, primarily in the Office of Governance and Internal Communications.
This portfolio is a dynamic work in progress of Lisa's doctoral classes at New Jersey City University, service, and leadership. Lisa is interested in how technology can enhance second language acquisition through the use of all forms of immersive technology, (XR). Lisa's dissertation will focus on the advancement of AI in education, (AIED), AI alignment, ethics, and policies; how these elements will be incorporated in education and how these elements will impact education.
